Mrs Johnson had also reminded mum that on Saturday afternoon there was a rehearsal of the local Ice show “Cinderella”. Brian and Joan were excellent skaters and were involved in the show so we would not be able to watch rugby as planned. I was quite relieved, as secretly I hated rugby and would far rather go to the rehearsal. I was also an excellent skater but was not involved in the show. I decided to go to the rehearsal, as I was always envious of the girl skaters with their lovely short flip skirts and gorgeous legs! It was always fascinating to watch the girls and see what they were wearing under the skirts when they did a spin.
