any time Megan wanted to feel like an adult again, all she had to do was call up Sabrina and they could chat about music and carnal subjects and whatever else came to mind. It was, oddly enough, the best of both worlds. And when her grounding ended, she’d get a little of her freedom back without having to sacrifice what she had gained.
School ended for Carrie and Stephen, and with kids their age around to buy candy and magazines, business at Bledsoe’s picked up once more. Vern softened, Raul adjusted, Natalie rebounded and Josh was Josh again. Megan soon found herself regarding it as a tolerable, almost friendly place to work. Without all the distractions, her colleagues were nice people whom she could easily consider friends.
