Bobby had been coming to visit aunt Theresa every year since he was 9 years old. His stays usually began when school ended and lasted the whole summer. Bobby’s only complaint was that he would not see his friends during those summers, but the laundry list of activities available to him in the open land near Theresa’s house made the summers go by quickly. The main job for Bobby was taking care of Bear. Some days he and Bear would leave in the morning for a walk and not return until dinner-time. It was obvious to all that they made a perfect team. Bobby also enjoyed his time with his older cousin Sarah. Her behavior mimicked his development, and despite their age difference, they were able to play well together.
