Megan’s heart momentarily jumped before it dawned on her that she was overreacting. “Come on. They did NOT disown me.”
“They might as well could have!” Carrie spat with a forcefulness that was not her own. “After what they said. Fucking hypocrites! I hate them so much.”
Megan was horrified. Not even Jess had been this bad. It seemed that what happened between Carrie and her parents was less an argument and more a war.
“Carrie,” she explained. “This is Mom and Dad you’re talking about. Your family. The people you’ve known and lived with all your life.
