What was momma going to say when she found our ‘special’ clothes? I had never discussed that aspect of my life with momma. What would she say when she found our makeup boxes and wigs on the top of the shelves? I shivered at the thought. There would be no doubt in her mind when she saw the sequined gowns hanging from the racks what our ‘hobby’ had been. Actually, it was less a hobby than a business venture for us. We had a ‘sister’ act that we performed in one of the gay bars on weekends. We sang show tunes and did imitations of famous stars of the screen. We were a popular attraction until Gino became ill.
