Momma completed her packing and said, “Whoo, I’m glad that’s done. I’ll call a mover tomorrow and have the boxes put into storage until I can figure out what to do with them. I found a copy of your lease so I’ll call your landlord too. I think I’ll tell him that you’ve both become terminally ill and gone into a hospice. I’ll tell him he’s welcome to keep the deposit and the balance of the rent. That should be enough for him to keep from nosing about. I’ll call the utility companies while I’m at it and have the phone, water and electricity turned off too. I haven’t seen a newspaper on the porch so I guess you don’t have home delivery. I’m going to have to remember to go by the post office and file a change of address for you two.
