“You think I wanna see her get hurt?!” Megan rebutted. “She’s my sister! But, she’ll be with someone she knows and trusts. Someone who’s her age and just as scared and confused as she is. Besides, she’ll be wearing a diaper the whole time so…you know…. doesn’t happen”
Carrie winced. Megan had made a lot of very good points, but would it might not matter in the end. She tried to put herself in her mother’s place and she wasn’t quite sure she’d see things any differently than her parent’s did right now. After all, it was kinda risky. She winced because she was expecting the final, definitive ‘no!’ that would shatter her dreams, crush her ambitions and leave her lonely and longing for the years to come.
