Thankfully Peter sat me down in a fairly quiet area and went to fetch the coffees. I positioned myself with my back to the rest of the café so I couldn’t see the two lads and hoped they wouldn’t see me. The coffee arrived and as we sipped Peter chatted away about how his parents had moved to the area when his dad got a job in the civil service.
“That’s where my dad works,” I said, without even thinking. Big mistake. Serious. “So where does he work?” asked Peter.
