Now if I was to say this could lead to a real can of worms opening up. Imagine Peter’s dad seeing my dad and saying something about his son dating my dad’s daughter, if you follow.
“Hi, my son’s dating your daughter.”
“But I haven’t got a daughter!”
“Alison? Isn’t Alison your daughter. My son Peter says it’s your daughter!”
“There must be some mistake. I don’t have a daughter, only a son. He has got long hair though…. “
The consequences could be horrendous. How do I get out of this? “Errrr, somewhere in one of the offices. I’m not actually quite sure where,” I stammered, hoping this would bring the line of enquiry to an end.
