It took a miracle and a very good therapist, but I got better. They let me out. I changed my name and went to school. I did well. And when I was done, Daddy got me a job in the library. It was his way of apologizing, I suppose. It made me happy though. I got to be normal. Productive. And best of all, I got to be close to Simon. His letters, his journals, they were all mine. The university wouldn’t care if they went ‘missing.’ I was well again.
