“Let this be a lesson to you,” Nancy told her. “That you haven’t quite outsmarted you’re deal old Mom.”
“You’re not OLD,” Megan assured her.
Nancy changed her diaper and put her down for her nap. Clean, dry and quite cozy, Megan dozed off almost immediately. She awoke rather crankily to the ringing of her phone. She usually remembered to shut it off during naptime, but it must have slipped her mind.
“What?” she asked groggily.
“Nice to hear from you too,” said Kylie.
“Sorry,” Megan replied. “I was sleeping and you woke me.”
“My bad. Go on back to sleep.”
“Can’t now.”
“Well then, we might as well talk.”
“Yes…we might as well.”
