Valerie cast her mind back some five years when her nephew Michael was first petticoated. Valerie’s sister proudly showed her around his bedroom which was just as prissy as this and probably still is. At the time, she expected to see Michael too, sat sulking in a pretty pink frock but he was nowhere to be seen… until she looked out of his bedroom window and saw Michael in the back garden wearing a lemon yellow dress. He was playing skipping with his sisters and looked thoroughly miserable. “I do hope David isn’t unhappy,” she said to herself. It was a lot to hope for, especially so early on in his journey.
