How they ever managed to keep from getting arrested for child abuse is beyond me. His subconscious personality stopped maturing between the ages of two and three, although his conscious personality continued to mature normally. He blames himself for the deaths of his parents subconsciously. I suspect it’s because he has a very deeply rooted fear/hate relationship with his mother and wished that she would die whenever she beat him. Sadly, it’s a very normal reaction to that sort of stress. When they died in fact, his subconscious blamed him for the wish fulfillment and regressed him to a time before his mother’s alcoholism destroyed their relationship.
