Then she grasped the far front side of diaper corners with her right hand, simultaneously pulling the rear corners over with the left hand and pinning them down. She did the same to the other side, pinning his diapers tightly in place with the experience of a mother who had fastened thousands of diapers. She knew that once he began crawling about the floor to play that morning, the fabric of the diapers would stretch and loosen to ease the tightness of her fitting.
