Thomas started to argue with her, but she pointed out that if he waited, she would have him declared incompetent the minute he was unable to handle his affairs. Mary told him that she had lain awake all night thinking about the formula and what it would mean to them financially. If he forced her to go to court and explain what was wrong with him, the new media would get wind of it and the attendant publicity would reduce the value of their share of the formula. She told him that if he was any kind of a man, he would take his medicine and let her divorce him without creating a ruckus.
