“It’s a trick,” Ron said doubtfully.
“I don’t think so,” a concerned Megan replied. She again removed Deanna’s gag and asked her what was wrong.
“Look at what you did to me,” she hissed. It was as if Megan’s tender babying was somehow worse than all the beatings and burnings she had ever suffered. “I hate you!”
“Shh.” Megan held her finger to her lips. “You want to get out of here, right?”
Somberly, Deanna nodded.
“Then there’s only one more thing you have to do.”
“Fine. Whatever.”
“Well?” Ron asked, drawing Megan away. “Are we going to take pictures or not?”
