Megan shook her head. She should be OK. And, if not, she had extra diapers with her. Concerns about her diapers being detected were put to ease simply by her wearing a pair of nylon windbreaker pants that masked the noise.
It seemed that almost everyone was going through a rough patch. Sabrina’s uncle was ill; Pedro and Des continued to contend with their respective families’ disapproval of their relationship. Raul was slowly going deaf from all of Vern’s verbal abuse and was desperate to find something better. Lending herself to vagueness, Megan added her own plight to the hodgepodge of misery.
“What a dick,” Des remarked.
“That’s so not right,” Sabrina added.
“I don’t even know that that’s what happened,” said Megan. “But….I don’t know what else to think.”
