They grabbed cold drinks and retreated to Kylie’s room.
“It’s a bit of a mess,” she said apologetically.
Megan shrugged. Name a college student whose room wasn’t a mess.
They reminisced for a while and shared in a few good laughs before moving onto current events. Not quite ready to drop the bomb, Megan instead focused her griping to the realms of guys and work.
“Vern’s an asshole, but it’s not his fault that he’s an asshole, if you know what I mean,” Megan explained.
“So you’re OK with it, huh?”
“I get used to it. But now he wants me to work more hours and its just….I dunno.”
“I wish I had more hours,” Kylie complained.
