Megan nodded. Anxious as she was, she remained attentive and interested in what Kylie had to say.
“Ummm….OK,” Kylie began, drawing in a deep breath. “You remember Jamie?”
Megan nodded. Jamie was Kylie’s psuedo-boyfriend. They had communicated extensively over e-mail and the phone and were poised to meet over the summer. Megan hoped that things worked out for them; for as fun as she was, Kylie could be downright aloof sometimes.
“Yeah. Of course. You guys meet?”
“Yeah…”
“That’s great. So…what’s he like in person?”
“Well…. the thing is……Jamie’s a she.”
