“Pssst Carrie,” Megan whispered. Her sister was sleeping peacefully and Megan would have been more than content to let her do so…if she didn’t have to get to work so soon. “Wake up.”
The subtle approach having failed her, Megan found the remote to Carrie’s stereo and gave it a try. A thunderously loud guitar riff erupted from the speakers and the girl woke up in a hurry.
“Whoa…. sorry,” Megan apologized. “Didn’t think it would be that loud.”
“Meg!” Carrie complained.
“Well, I had to get you up,” she explained. “You’re going with me to the pharmacy today, remember?”
“Yeah, but…. did you have to do that?”
“Sorry. But hey…I’m sure you’d feel a lot better about it if you did it to Steve.”
