“It’s a bit more complicated than that and we need you to be very understanding about this, and I mean very understanding. Please don’t lose your temper or anything.”
“Okay, I won’t,” said dad. “But what is it? I’ve seen many things in my days so I’m sure nothing will shock me very much.”
