For Billy, it was awkward and slow going, to begin with, but after an hour or two, he found his nimble finger and actually began enjoying the process. Heeding Alice’s advice, he’d chosen a design that he felt his mother might like. A design he could present as a gift to give her on his return home. He excused himself for willingly undertaking this girlie activity night after night as he poured his heart and soul into creating something for his mother and his mother alone. He longed to be with her again and spent many a moment remembering her smile and her scent, her loving arms as she wrapped them around him, and the smell of her hearty home cooking each and every evening.
